Candle Care

How to take care of your candle

It's my first time lighting. How long should I burn my candle?
Burn no more than 4 hours, or when the melted wax has reached the edges of the jar. This will help with your candle's "memory" and will help burn evenly throughout its lifetime. If there is small amount of hang up on the side, that is okay -- it will melt the farther you get into the jar.

Can I leave my candle burning all day?
Please burn your candle no more than 4 hours at a time.

I'm seeing black soot when burning my candle. Is that okay?
While soy wax emits less soot than traditional paraffin candles, this can be a sign that your wick needs to be trimmed. Always trim your wick before lighting each time. This will prevent soot, provide smaller flames, and extend the life of your candle.

My candle is finished! How do I clean it?
Stop using your candle until you have 1/8in wax left in your jar.
1. Put your candle in the freezer for about an hour.
2. Pour boiling water into your jar. Let it sit for awhile, and your small amount of wax should rise to the top to be easily removed.
3. Never discard your wax in the sink. Always discard it in the trash.
4. Use your fingers or a utensil to take off the wicks from the bottom of the jar.
5. Thoroughly wash your jar with soap and water. Or a paper towel & rubbing alcohol will do!
6. Now you can repurpose your jar!

Do you offer a recycle program?
At this time, we do not. We encourage our customers to repurpose their candle jars. Some great ideas on how to reuse them to name a few: storage for jewelry and trinkets, q-tips and cotton balls, bobby pins, or grow your favorite plant.
